ECB’s Lane says monetary economics not broken in Europe

Please explain.  It has been broken ever since the inception of the Euro.  The central powers in Brussels knew that each country was vastly different than the next.  Italy and France cannot use the same currency.  They have vastly different economies, people, and cultures.  The Euro was dead in the water from day one, and the ECB is not going to give up.  In the next few years, all of Europe’s individual nations will be sovereign once again.  The goal of a United Europe will never happen, and it has never happened in every attempt to do so.
